Cross-Reference is a magazine proposing a hybrid format that combines the strengths of a printed publication with the experiential aspect of live performance events. Each "issue" is a one-night performance which samples a current cultural event and challenges it through theoretical texts. Supporting content is sampled from existing sources, provided by writers, guests and online participants in the form of a live discussion forum. Guests and contributors are provided with a social setting equipped with the technical means to create a live discourse with communities both inside and outside of the event. By collapsing the distance between authors, editors and audience, the roles of each respective participant, as well as the platform itself, are challenged. These posters were created after the event, they feature stills from the live video with text screen printed in varnish to achieve an almost documentary account of the event in poster form.
